GREVILLEA WORKSTATION

Designed by Genevieve Bryant, a second year Industrial Design student at Western Sydney University as part of the Bi-annual Western Sydney Emerging Designer award. Developed and manufactured locally at our Maxton Fox Western Sydney factory.

The Grevillea aims to bridge the gap in the workstation market for blind and vision-impaired users by reducing obstacles through human centered and inclusive design. The challenge was to design an aesthetically appealing workstation that will blend in with a modern workplace while simultaneously supporting an impaired or low vision employee and their guide dog when using the workstation via vision aid features.

Contrasting colours, soft edges, grooves in the workstation surface for accessories, dog tethering points and gap in the edging of the top to rest a walking aid; all key design features that make this a perfect workstation for a vision impaired user.

The Grevillea encourages engagement and productivity, enhancing an employee’s sense of belonging and independence.
