The Swissotel’s ‘Arches on Market’, Reception and Lobby on L9 in Sydney underwent a multi-million dollar upgrade.

A project led by Foredeck Constructions and designed by Bates Smart.

Maxton Fox were engaged by the Foredeck team from the very early planning stages of this refurbishment right the way through to completion.

Many details and moving development getting this project ‘just right.’ From the banquet seating stitching, form and shapes using a particular vinyl suitable for the space, to the fabric wall panelling throughout, to the power-coated curved metal arch railing, balustrades and mobile concierge stations and sideboards.

Arches on Market, the reimagined bar, sits upon the hotel’s eighth floor, and has been given a new lease on life with a design that nods to the old world glamour palpable in the hotel’s Market Street location. Striking floor to ceiling archways—a wink to the bar’s name, no doubt—draw the eye upward to the bar’s dramatically high ceilings, although there’s just as much to take in at eye-level, says Noni Reginato at Vogue Living.
