The MODO© is an innovative electronic lectern developed for Western Sydney University (WSU) by Maxton Fox. It emphasises sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusivity, with customisable panels, easy tilt wheels, adjustable height capabilities to accommodate various speakers and spaces, including wheelchair users as well as flip top mechanism to hide screens and componentry.
Our main challenge with this product was to design a solution that could cater to a variety of needs and interior styles, all while working within a strict time constraint. Our manufacturing team worked in parallel with the design team, allowing for rapid prototyping from concept to sign-off in just under 2 months. This included mass manufacturing and installation of the final product. All components (excluding electronics) were designed and manufactured by Maxton Fox.
The lectern integrates built-in tech features like USB ports, a fold-away monitor by way of a flip top mechanism, replaceable shrouds which enhance functionality and longevity and electronic height adjustment.
The MODO© isn’t just a lectern; it’s a statement piece that’s changing the game for modern education.
