Tramsheds Harold Park was a heritage restoration project, salvaging and reinterpreting the iconic Rozelle Tramway Depot.

Today it has been transformed into Sydney’s most dynamic district for dining and learning. It is home to 7 community-based retailers, 12 restaurants and cafes from some of Sydney’s most forward-thinking chefs. It is also a hub for culinary creativity and a place where true innovation is born.

The Rozelle Tramway Depot was always busy when it was built back in 1904, becoming an important interchange where people met and socialized on their way around the city. While it has a different purpose today, more than a century on and a dramatic renovation later, Tramsheds still plays a pivotal role in community gatherings and remains a place to celebrate Sydney’s architectural history.

For this project, Maxton Fox was awarded the Commercial Joinery tender, to specifically design and manufacture technology integrated tables and chairs.

Maxton Fox’s R&D department developed a unique ‘swivel-away’ chair specifically for this project, which the Mirvac team thoroughly appreciated the solution as well as the passion and initiative from the Maxton Fox project team.

Key pieces designed and manufactured for this project include:

• Custom solid timber furniture
• Timber planters
• Cantilevered stools that were hand welded and finished with reclaimed black butt timber
• Each of the pieces were manufactured to have integrated power
