University of Wollongong Library has recently been refurbished. At the heart of the vision and purpose was to engage the UOW students and representations in the requirements for the future learning facilities. The Library has been reimagined to provide greater flexibility and choice for study and to showcase collections.
As a recognised and vital hub for learning and research, the following student-centric design principles were adopted in the redevelopment:
- Flexibility and choice.
- Sense of community.
- Well-being and safety.
- Equity and inclusivity.
- Accessibility and intuitiveness.
Maxton Fox were one of the leading manufacturing partners for this project to provide learning workstations where their Kontakt workstation was specified throughout, study desks and joinery.
The furniture component took only 4 weeks to manufacture. The project was installed by our in-house team in February 2020.
Designed by Geyer Design. Made by Maxton Fox. Constructed by Richard Crookes.
