UNSW Tyree Energy Technologies
Situated on the gateway site of the University of New South Wales main campus, at the junction of the Mall and Anzac Parade, is the $123.5 million Tyree Energy Technologies Building (TETB) which is the home of energy research at the University of New South Wales. A custom design solution by FJMT and constructed by Brookfield Multiplex. Completed in 2012.
The 15,000-square-metre, six-level building is used for research, education and industry collaboration in the development and practical implementation of sustainable energy technologies.
The building has teaching and learning spaces; workshops and display spaces; research spaces, including wet and dry labs; and a cafe.
The TETB received a 6 Star Green Star Design rating, awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia, making it the fourth 6 Star education facility in Australia and a first for UNSW. This accreditation represents world leadership in environmentally sustainable building and manufacturing practices.
