Western Sydney – Emerging Designer Award is Back

Maxton Fox and Western Sydney University unveil their next design competition for students in 2022.

This year the brief and competition is open to a broader selection of Industrial Design and Engineering students across various years, all studying within the School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment.

The topic of this year’s competition is currently hotly debated, given the recent Pandemic and radical changes in the way we work, study, and socialise. The focus is the work of the future and what we ‘work on’ and with given the rapid change.

Maxton Fox has been a great collaborator with Western Sydney University over recent years. The team previously lead a brief focused on a ‘feature chair’ design, in which three top winning designs were selected, manufactured and launched to market. Such a unique opportunity that is a designers’ dream come true. Last years’ winning chair designs can be found here.

As a local Western Sydney Manufacturer that has been committed to manufacturing in Australia for over 50 years, Maxton Fox is very much looking to the next generation for inspiration, design and energy and welcomes the opportunity to assist in the learning and education of students through such a fruitful Academic and Industry collaboration.

Today marks the launch of 2022’s competition, and may all students enjoy the process and get as much out of it as Maxton Fox does.
